Yoga
and Dance
Yoga teaches a child body awareness, gross motor control and
coordination which makes it a natural activity to complement
a Montessori environment. Many of the same benefits that a Montessori
education provides for a child can be experienced with yoga.
Spanish
Children studying a foreign language have an improved self concept
and sense of achievement in school. Along with strengthening
skills in language acquisition, students learn about other cultures
and broaden their global awareness.
Swimming
Classes
Swimming classes are available during school hours once a week
to children that participate in the Summer Session. Classes
are held at the Elmhurst YMCA.
Field
Trips
Field trips are scheduled during the Summer Session. Past field
trips have included: Legoland, Dupage Children's Museum and
Cosley Zoo.
Pre-Fit
Pre-fit is a weekly physical fitness program
for young
children.
Pre-fit classes help preschoolers develop their
gross motor skills and coordination, while
improving their posture and
creating and early desire to be physically fit. Pre-fit also
provides a fun outlet for energetic preschoolers!
Play
Ground
Children enjoy the 2-acre park-like play ground with large sand
boxes and different ground equipment and structures for free
activities, for large muscle and motor development.
Special
Seminars and Lectures
We off special seminars and lectures for parents and children
on topics related to early education and child development.
